Vad besökare tyckte
Har provat denna några gånger men av en outgrundlig anledning har det inte blivit någon tastenote förrän nu.
ENGLISH - INTRODUCTION:
Laphroaig Brodir (Brodir stands for Brother) is limited to 2000 bottles and was exclusively released for the Scandinavian ferry company Viking Line. It was released in 2012 at the largest floating whisky event in the world, the Cinderella Whisky Fair.
It´s now sold out and the price was around 85 Euros (Tax Free)
I´ve been trying this one out for several times, but i just realized that i have never written about it so i thought that now is the time.
ENGLISH - NOSE:
Here we go...a bonfire by the ocean a hot summers evening, and just right next to you there´s a new tarred boat...really?!?...I know it sounds cliché, but it fits very well in here:)
A full-bodied and fruity of green apples and pineapple. The peat smoke is sweet and earthy and the vanilla plays a big part. There is also some lemon that adds some freshness into the sweet presentation, and behind all this a hint of violets.
ENGLISH - PALATE:
Starts off in the same way as on the nose with a round almost oily feeling on the tongue. Then a hint of sea breeze and a lighter fruitiness of pineapple, lemon and apple and then some vanilla. The peat smoke is less present and less earthy than on the nose and we also got a hint of violet...the candy version of it.
ENGLISH - FINISH:
Long, warm and lingering with vanilla, honey and lemon. Then the earthy peat smoke rides in and for the "Grand Finale" you feel the ash with a slight creamy feeling on the tongue. Loses some complexity in the "midrange"
ENGLISH - COMMENT:
If you are a fan of the more "gentle" way of Laphroaig, like the 18 and more the 15 yo, this is definitely the one for you. Even if it´s just 13 yo, it shows a rather "matured" way...or.."let me just sit down here for a while and think" were the 10 yo CS editions are more like "a teenager yelling out their attention".
It´s just a matter of what kind of person you are. Me...i'll go for the teenager which reflecting my youth.... only 38 of age ;)
