The nose opens with a gentle ashy brininess and a huge chunk of shimmering vanilla oak. That oak is incredibly chunk and adds a delicious vanilla weight and it is pretty oaky by ‘phroaig standards but there is plenty of balancing exotic fruit – greengage, kiwi, green pineapple, green banana and a touch of barley.
