A beautiful, multi-layered nose of toffee coated apples and cinders with hints of bbq sauce and dark pickles. Hmm, this is a serious food fest of a malt! Hints of old, medicinal seaweed, treacly-peat and light brine. Quite earthy and malty with a developing dark honey/ camp coffee/ chicory note. With time it becomes a little floral and a hint of violet appears. A seriously complex nose which takes some time to unwind!

A powerfully citric and vibrant nose with balancing castor sugar and barley. With time the oak becomes pleasantly sawdusty and the barley increasingly fragrant. Multi-layered and very impressive.

The palate displays more oak (toffee/ cream) to begin with hints of wood shavings, apricot and honey. The citrus arrives on the middle along with the minerality. The finish is darker than expected with sub-Armagnac-esque fruit, a touch of dark wood spice, liquorice and brown sugar to balance the citrus and bitter oak....

A distinctly Guyanan nose of pungent, youthful, oily, vegetal, high toned, column still spirit. There’s a touch of tropical fruit but the vegetal notes dominate. With time a little sweet vanilla and wood spice appears.

The palate mirrors the nose with plenty of pungent, oily, high toned and estry fruit. Raw and vegetal but pleasantly intense with quite a spicy middle. Long and dry with a little bitter spice and dark chocolate.
